Outline History

The original idea came to life at John's 40th birthday party, 'Why don't we build and race a powerboat?' The phrase 'conceived in the pub - built in a shed' has been with us ever since.

With its yellow tubes and smooth yet aggressive lines, all we could do was stand and stare when the first RaceBoat was completed. The current RaceBoat has much the same effect wherever it goes, especially when it's riding high on the back of the lorry.

'It looks like a shark, with a pair of bananas on it' Kevin said. The BananaShark was born.

Pushing on with continued success, BananaShark Racing has travelled the world to compete against the best competition the sport can offer. We have had numerous wins since that first national race and have achieved fourth overall in world championship competition.
